BLIP is a free, non-commercial music guessing game provided as-is. By using it you agree to what follows.
The service
This is a hobby project. It carries no uptime guarantee, no warranty of any kind, and it may change or shut down at any time without notice. It depends on third-party services for its audio, and it stops working if those become unavailable.
Music and third-party content
BLIP does not host, store or distribute any music. Album artwork and 30-second preview clips are supplied by Deezer and load directly from Deezer's servers into your browser. Clips are limited to 30 seconds; full-length recordings are not available through this site. All music, artwork, titles and associated rights belong to their respective owners, and no ownership of them is claimed here. Nothing on this site is downloadable.
BLIP is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Deezer, Spotify, Apple, SoundCloud or any rights holder. Trademarks and names are used only to identify the services involved.
BLIP is a free, non-commercial project. It carries no advertising, accepts no payments and no donations.
If you hold rights to material surfaced through this site and want it removed, email [email protected] with the track and your basis for the request, and it will be removed from the catalog.
Fair use of the service
Please do not:
- Use automated tools to hammer the site or its import endpoints.
- Attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to it.
- Use offensive, harassing or impersonating names. Automatic screening catches obvious cases only, which is a reason to be decent rather than a licence to look for gaps.
- Import playlists you do not have the right to access, or use the importer against anything other than public playlist pages.
Access may be blocked if you do.
Who can use BLIP
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use this site.
Accounts and the leaderboard
You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for the display name you choose, which is public. Do not create accounts automatically, share one account between people, or attempt to manipulate the leaderboard. Scores are computed on the server from the guesses you submit; accounts found tampering will be removed from the board.
Display names are screened automatically against a list of slurs and profanity. That check is deliberately blunt and will not catch everything. If you see a name or behaviour that should not be there, report it to [email protected]. Accounts may be suspended or deleted for abusive names or behaviour.
You can delete your own account at any time from the account menu, which permanently removes your data.
Your content
Importing a playlist requires an account, and imported playlists are stored against it. You are responsible for what you import: only use the importer on playlist pages you are entitled to view. Playlists are private to your account, are capped at 20 per account, and are deleted along with the account. You are also responsible for the nicknames you choose and anything you type into the game.
Governing law
BLIP is operated from Canada and these terms are governed by the laws applicable there. Nothing in these terms removes any consumer protection right you have under the law of your own country that cannot be waived.
